Prof. Dr. Ingrid Gerhard is a university professor of gynecology and also specializes in naturopathy and environmental medicine. In 1993, she founded the naturopathy outpatient clinic at the University Women's Hospital in Heidelberg, which she headed until 2002. Since then, she has worked as a freelance lecturer and author.

Her wealth of experience has been incorporated into two textbooks for doctors and therapists, in which, for the first time, conventional medical and naturopathic methods in obstetrics and gynecology are treated on an equal footing. She also wrote the "Women's Health Book", which is also understandable for laypeople, and "The New Herbal Medicine for Women". Prof. Dr. Ingrid Gerhard has received many awards for her services to holistic medicine, including the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st Class, in 1995.
