Murnau/Munich/Taufkirchen (Vils) – Stefanie Schäfer is now responsible for press work at Mankau Verlag. She succeeds Gabriele Becker, who has worked for the Upper Bavarian publishing house since 2017 and has now retired.

After 20 years of self-employment and 45 years in the book industry, Gabriele Becker is ready to "let go": "I am now taking the time to devote myself to all the books that I have always wanted to read and am excited to see what exciting things await me in this new phase of my life," says Becker. The trained bookseller worked for several years as marketing manager for a children's book publisher, and from 1989 onwards she took over the management of press and public relations for the Munich publishers mi (moderne industrie) and mvg. In the spring of 2003 she finally founded her own press agency in Munich, where she worked until recently, in particular looking after the Mankau Verlag.

Stefanie Schäfer is a graduate of the Master's program in Book and Media Research at LMU Munich and is also an experienced bookseller. The 37-year-old has been responsible for press work for book publishers and authors since 2011 as part of a team with Gabriele Becker and recently founded her agency for press and public relations in Taufkirchen (Vils), which is now also responsible for press relations for Mankau Verlag. "I'm really looking forward to many wonderful books and audio guides on the topics of health and self-help, which I can present to journalists, bloggers and influencers," says Schäfer.

Publishing director Raphael Mankau thanked Gabriele Becker very much "for seven years of committed and successful support of our publishing house and for the trusting and respectful cooperation". At the same time, he was pleased "that Stefanie Schäfer has taken over the baton so smoothly and with great enthusiasm and is now available to support the media representatives with advice and action".
