Hair is not the same as hair
Hair is extremely important for each and every one of us. A person's main characteristics, their health status, stress or balance, all of this can be easily determined by the quality of their hair and hairstyle. Even drastic life changes are often symbolically expressed with a radical new hairstyle. But not all hair is the same - there are plenty of findings that reveal many amazing things about our hair and ultimately provide clarity when problems arise.
From 2009 to 2012, Gianni Coria developed a scalp and hair care concept based on his positive experiences in offering real help to people with hair problems, which he summarises under the name "Hair Growth Specialist". He discusses the theory behind this, as well as reports from hairdressers and those affected, in his new book. "My research journey is not over yet, but it has been perfected to such an extent that we, my team and I, can effectively and reliably help people with hair problems to regain their own hair."
Basic knowledge about hair and scalp
There are 100,000 to 150,000 hairs on the head. Each hair follicle has a sebaceous gland, a hair muscle and its own blood supply. Of course, each follicle is also connected to the nervous system. The hair follicles are also embedded in a fascia system. If you look closely, you could also say that we have numerous mini-organs on our scalp. The hair papilla sits about two to five millimeters deep in the dermis and is the actual growth center of a hair. It is supplied with nutrients by the finest blood vessels (capillaries). Since hair is made up of keratin cells that act like elastic horn feathers, a supply of protein (e.g. in meat, nuts, seeds) and essential fatty acids (e.g. in cold-pressed vegetable oils) is particularly important. If the hair papilla has optimal conditions, it will produce hair for a lifetime.
However, an unhealthy diet and poor scalp care are to blame for the fact that more and more deposits are impairing the scalp's ability to produce strong hair. Many people think that it is normal for hair to become sparser and thinner as we get older. According to Gianni Coria, however, this is simply the result of years or even decades of poor development and the sum of many elements that have caused the body to become unbalanced.
The network of hair growth specialists
Traditional hairdressers learn hardly anything about scalp care during their training, but everything about hair. Strangely enough, the scalp is a taboo area that has received far too little attention up to now. For this reason, Gianni Coria founded a network of hair growth specialists. They see themselves as mediators between cosmetics and conventional medicine. A hairdresser who has trained as a hair growth specialist takes care of active scalp care because he knows that an incorrectly cared for scalp has serious consequences for hair density and hair quality.
The view of a trained specialist through a scalp camera helps to clearly identify problems. Detailed images provide information and security, and suitable care assistance can also be initiated in a professional manner. During a scalp analysis in the hairdressing salon, Gianni Coria usually finds it extremely reassuring for customers when they see what is really happening on the scalp. With a suitable care plan, the scalp and hair recover relatively quickly, and the customer is happy again in just a few months after many years of suffering. In order to grow hair back naturally on its own, patience and consistency are required, but this is rewarded in the most beautiful way with your own hair.
