Dark-romantic world full of secrets

The story of how "Liber Bellorum" came about is itself a little bit fantastic: When the world was in lockdown, Julius and Oskar Mankau used the time to look for the stories they wanted to read as books themselves. Their own label for young fantasy literature was created, and in Warda Moram they soon found a promising author who sent her long-guarded manuscript, which had matured over the years, on its journey as the captivating three-part series "Liber Bellorum".

Thanks to the two young publishers' instinct for what interests them and how they want to be addressed, well-connected test readers and bookstagrammers help to reach exactly those readers who long for a dark, romantic world full of magic and secrets on all channels. A strategy that works, because in the fantasy genre, social media is practically the most important sales channel, since young people in particular no longer look for reading recommendations in traditional bookstores, emphasize the young publishers.

The birth of “Liber Bellorum”

Sinking into strange worlds to find yourself - that's how it was at the beginning for the author, who now works as a literary scholar and translator of fantasy literature. While others were partying, she preferred to sit at the computer all night long to think up the stories and friends that suited her better. This is how Warda Moram describes it in the TV report on the BR evening show on November 15, 2021. Even now, she still prefers it when the focus is not on herself, but on her texts and books.

The idea for "Liber Bellorum" came about in 2007, under a different name at the time, but with the two main characters Kyle and Raven, who ushered in a new era for the budding fantasy author. "The journey alongside the two dissimilar brothers was a long and bumpy one. We had to overcome many obstacles together and show even more patience for each other," she writes in her blog at www.liber-bellorum.de , with which she also encourages others to follow their own path: "Don't be afraid to tell a story several times, and don't let setbacks put you off! Your patience pays off." 

Of light and shadow

"Light and Shadow" is the second volume of the fantasy trilogy about the two brothers Kyle and Raven, who wander the world homeless. In Volume I, Kyle and Raven were supposed to learn at the highly respected Lunaris Academy how to control and use the magical powers that lie dormant within them. But soon the beautiful facade begins to crumble and dark prophecies take shape... In Volume II, the fire magician Kyle sets out to find the truth about horrors of the past and dark threats in the future. Whenever the gods think that their creation could become too powerful, they seem to provoke a war in which humanity wipes itself out. How can you oppose such a powerful opponent?

Kyle finds the "scribe", an immortal girl who carries the entire history of the last god war within her, and receives his inheritance. With the knowledge he has gained, he reveals himself to the old magicians to convince them that these gods are the real enemy. And the Alliance and the Shadow Clan form a fragile alliance...
