Naturopathy for women’s problems: New compact guide by Maria Lohmann
The compact guide “Natural Medicine for Women” by Maria Lohmann explains the most common symptoms and their naturopathic treatment. It shows which applications are possible and which therapies are most effective.
The constant influence of hormones
Every woman has her own rhythm, and every woman experiences the physical, mental and physical changes of the various phases of life differently. For some, they are stressful, for others, they are completely normal. Hormones and their sensitive regulatory circuits influence a woman's life to a large extent.
The majority of all complaints have no organic cause and can therefore be treated naturally. Natural medicine has a gentle regulating effect on this system and rebalances it - without disturbing side effects and without putting strain on the body. "The psyche, hormone balance, nervous system and immune system are closely interrelated. That is why holistic therapy is so important," writes alternative practitioner Maria Lohmann in her new compact guide "Natural Medicine for Women". The extent to which natural changes and aging processes affect quality of life and health can be largely controlled and positively influenced.
Common women’s complaints
Gloomy thoughts and a depressed mood - almost every woman knows this. Temporary feelings like this are part of life. In many cases, these mood swings in women are also caused by hormonal fluctuations - for example during menopause or the monthly cycle.
Under the influence of estrogen, there is also an increased retention of water in the body in the days before the period. This can be influenced by a light, dehydrating and low-salt diet. Medicinal plants such as chasteberry support hormonal balance and help with mood swings, breast tenderness and water retention. Other medicinal plants with antispasmodic and analgesic effects that can be used to treat painful menstrual cramps include cinquefoil, yarrow and lady's mantle. It is estimated that one third of all women over the age of 30 have benign tumors that form from the muscle layer and connective tissue of the uterus. From a naturopathic point of view, such myomas are often an expression of a disturbed balance in the abdomen. The menopause is also a time of natural biological change in a woman's life that takes place over many years and is often accompanied by symptoms such as mood swings, hot flushes or sweating.
Naturopathic therapies
"Whether it's phytotherapy, homeopathy, Bach flowers or aromatherapy, the realm of natural medicine that you can draw from is endless," says the experienced alternative practitioner. Medicinal plant science (phytotherapy) is one of the oldest forms of treatment. Knowledge of the natural power of plants was traditionally in the hands of women and was passed on from one generation to the next. Even today, herbal medicine is the most important natural healing method for women. It is based on the assumption that the active ingredients of a plant complement each other in a complex way and that the healing effect is only brought about by the totality of the plant substances.
Like a key to a lock - ideally, the homeopathic remedy fits the constitution of a person's body, mind and soul. In her guide, Maria Lohmann describes how the symptoms that fit the respective homeopathic active ingredients manifest themselves, how the person is and how the soul and body express themselves. A balanced and alkaline diet with plenty of calcium, magnesium and lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and vegetable protein is also important.
