Feel what feels good

Pregnancy is a time of growth - a true miracle and such a moving time in a woman's life. It is therefore not surprising that during this extraordinary phase of life, a woman's body, mind and soul require special attention.

Jeanette Luft knows from her courses that many women often feel emotionally stressed, alone and misunderstood. In her guide , the yoga therapist and mother of two shows expectant mothers how they can learn to be more aware of their bodies, listen to them and feel what is good for them and their baby: "Yoga is not a cure-all, but it can help you to feel your body better, hear your inner voice and trust that you know what is right for you and your baby."

The first chapters offer in-depth background knowledge and insider tips to help you find your way around the pregnancy jungle. You can search for information about the most common pregnancy complaints in the "Yoga Wonder Box" or read about it in the "Girls' Talk". The second part of the book contains yoga sequences for you to practice yourself, as well as four online videos and a large exercise poster.

Life philosophy yoga

The term "yoga" comes from the ancient Indian language Sanskrit and means "to yoke" or "to harness". The mind no longer wanders around freely and flies to to-do lists or in other directions, but is guided in a clear direction. In modern times, the translation "union" has prevailed, which makes it clear that yoga is a method in which body, breath and mind are "united".

In addition to breathing and posture, meditation and mindfulness are other important elements of holistic yoga. They have countless positive effects on the body, mind and soul: swirling thoughts are captured, breathing is calmed, heart rate and blood pressure normalize, and stress hormones drop. But according to Jeanette Luft, it is not about imitating complicated yoga poses or remaining in meditation for hours. It is about adapting movements to your own well-being and performing them in such a way that you feel better after the class than before. It is about being in the moment and getting out of your head. It is about energy, love and balance: "Yoga 'is' always new and can be exactly what you need right now."

Wonder Box Yoga Therapy

Many chapters in this book contain the so-called "yoga miracle box" - filled with tips and tricks from yoga therapy. These are intended to help expectant mothers gain a self-confident understanding of their bodies and their full mental strength. With each week of pregnancy, the spine and pelvis become heavier. Every gram that the baby gains challenges the body again and again. The spine and pelvis must constantly adapt and align.

In addition, the hormones progesterone and relaxin ensure that the body is wide and soft. An imbalance that often finds its expression in pain in the musculoskeletal system, joints and muscles. It is therefore important to find suitable postures and movements that are comfortable for the body and yet provide stability. During pregnancy, it is also important to learn to both tense the pelvic floor to give the tissue strength and support it in its stabilizing and supporting role in relation to the abdominal organs, and to relax it to facilitate the birth process.

The guide addresses the most common pregnancy complaints and explains why they occur and which yoga exercises are suitable for relief.
