Mankau Verlag mourns the loss of HypnoBirthing founder Marie F. Mongan
Marie F. Mongan, founder of the now worldwide HypnoBirthing birth assistance method and director of the US HypnoBirthing Institute, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2019 at the age of 86 in the home of her daughter Maura.
Frustrated by the birth of her first child, during which she felt literally incapacitated by the doctors and hospital routine, Marie "Mickey" Mongan dedicated herself to rethinking obstetric care. With HypnoBirthing's sophisticated relaxation and self-hypnosis techniques, she leaves a powerful legacy for all expectant mothers: "HypnoBirthing helps women to reclaim their right to awaken their natural birthing instincts, and with the full involvement of their partners, they realize one of the most unforgettable experiences of their lives," she writes.
Mankau Verlag, which has published her central book "HypnoBirthing. The natural way to a safe, gentle and easy birth" since 2008, mourns the loss of a great visionary and pioneer of a natural and gentle birth.
