Islands of strength in everyday life. Suggestions, rituals and exercises to find strengthening places for every life situation

In some places it seems easier to find yourself than in others. " Your magical place. The power place coaching " by Tanja Dränert shows how personal power places become a guide for various life questions.

Discover personal power places

“The shortest way to yourself leads around the world,” was the motto of the writer Hermann Graf Keyserling (1880–1946), who described in his Travel Diary of a Philosopher (1919) how his travels across the Mediterranean, the Suez Canal and the Indian Ocean to Ceylon, India, China, Japan and North America shaped his personal outlook on life.

Tanja Dränert's search for the middle of her life also took her to many magical places all over the world, where she was able to recharge her batteries again and again. She visited the Mayan pyramids and wonderful natural oases in Mexico, and experienced beautiful underwater worlds while snorkeling in Thailand and the Caribbean. She experienced the impressive expanse of desert landscapes in Egypt, Algeria and Mali. She went on a pilgrimage on the Way of St. James and discovered the magic of slowness there. So she began to think about what a place of power actually means.

This lifelong search and her training as a systemic kinesiologist laid the foundation for power place coaching. Her book "Your Magical Place" uses thoughts, rituals and exercises to encourage people to find their personal power place - which can be outside in nature or inside themselves.

The magic of nature

Our ancestors still believed that the earth, animals, plants and even stones had a soul. They believed in elemental beings, plant beings, ancestral spirits, fairies and other beings that roamed around powerful places. Even though the world today has largely been disenchanted by science and technology, something of this belief still lives on when, for example, certain landscapes or natural monuments have a special attraction and charisma.

Many people report that they experience a certain kind of connection with humanity, the living creatures on earth, the healing power of nature and the entire universe. They feel connected to a large reservoir of energy. This helps them to see their own lives from a different perspective and find new solutions. This enables them to take control of their own lives again. They face everyday life more calmly and with more joy and no longer feel so at the mercy of others.

Nature helps us to find our way back to ourselves: “It helps us to calm down and gives us a feeling of security and acceptance. It also helps us to concentrate on what is important again,” says Dränert.

The power place within

Places of power can also bring us into contact with our resistance and blockages, with our pain and suffering, with our patterns and beliefs. In doing so, they encourage us to come to terms with ourselves.

Tanja Dränert shows how we can use the energies in certain places to find our inner center, recharge our batteries and develop further, and which methods we can use to find the right places for us. Ultimately, it's not about recovering or regenerating and then carrying on as before. It's about really getting to know ourselves, looking at the issues that are still holding us back, and thus living the life that corresponds to our true selves.

The power that we think we are gaining from these places ultimately does not come from outside, but from within ourselves. It is our own energy field that is restored to a harmonious vibration there. The external power places can help us to reestablish contact with this inner knowledge when we want to regroup. Then we begin to see life's challenges not as a burden, but as a path for our own development.

The book is intended as an invitation to find your personal place of power and discover its magic. There are many exercises and tools available that can be used according to your own needs - there are no fixed guidelines.

A traditional place of power: the Cathedral of Santiago di Compostela, destination of the pilgrimage routes of the Way of St. James. Like all old pilgrimage routes, this one is charged by the vibrations of people - their thoughts, prayers, words and actions.

Lakes come in a wide range of sizes and their shores are shaped differently - not all of them are accessible to us. With their clear boundaries and often still surface, they hold up a mirror to us: what boundaries do I set for whom?

Nature coach Tanja Dränert has already visited many magical places where she was able to get closer to her inner place of power and discover it for herself. The place of power inside gives her peace and strength, even when wild storms rage outside.
