The art of seeing
The art of seeing
People with impaired vision strengthen and optimize their existing vision, while people with normal vision prevent visual impairments
Wolfgang Hätscher-Rosenbauer 's compact guide shows exercises and tips to use existing and unused potential and to strengthen it, instead of correcting weaknesses or defects one-sidedly with artificial visual aids.
More vivid, colorful and contrast-rich vision
The great poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said in his Theory of Colours (1810) that the eye reflects the world from the outside and the human being from the inside, thus completing the totality of the inside and the outside. Wolfgang Hätscher-Rosenbauer's "Eye School" therefore understands seeing in the sense of a "living contact between the inside and outside world" as an art that can be learned.
The self-help program he developed strengthens the individual's existing visual ability and optimizes all visual functions and qualities. These include, for example, the perception of the luminosity of colors, the width and openness of the field of vision, the ability to see in motion and at dusk, spatial vision, the optimal near-far adjustment of the eyes and the inner ability to see (visual memory and imagery) in order to give new energy to the weakened and overloaded visual functions: "Existing visual potential that is rarely used in everyday life is stimulated and strengthened and exhausted, strained visual functions are relieved and harmonized."
Climbing the visual pyramid
Experience has shown that the holistic approach of the eye school is much more effective, sustainable and exciting than trying to fight weaknesses or "train them away". With the help of the exercises structured in eight modules - either in eight days or eight weeks - the sense of sight is developed sustainably and effectively. It begins with experiencing the eyes as part of the body and relaxing them. Then optimal eye mobility and visual acuity are promoted. The next module aims to expand the field of vision and to see with all the senses. Finally, it is about optimizing near and far vision and binocular and spatial vision. Once the sense of color has been stimulated, eyesight strengthened and visual memory and imaginative imagination stimulated, the eighth module is about seeing mindfully and consciously in everyday life.
The eight-day program involves implementing the exercises and tips from a module every day for eight days in a row: "During this time, simply carry this book with you, take it with you everywhere and practice the exercises given once during the day in the order given and then as you feel like it, and as the opportunity arises," recommends the author and vision trainer.
In the eight-week program, you take a whole week for each module to implement the exercises and tips at every opportunity: "In the eight weeks, you will experience in a lasting way how capable your vision is of relaxation, development and improvement, compared to the initial situation."
Health tips for the eyes
Everyone's eyesight and even visual acuity fluctuate throughout the day - as does blood pressure. "We are not always in the same good mood. If we are exhausted, this also affects our vision. If we are euphoric, we see things with more light and intensity," says Wolfgang Hätscher-Rosenbauer. It is an illusion to believe that we always see with the same clarity. This makes it all the more important for complete regeneration that the eyes and brain are optimally supplied with nutrients. B vitamins are particularly important for preventing night blindness, for seeing in dim light or for light sensitivity, and vitamins C and E are particularly important for ensuring sufficient blood supply to the eyes.
The eye school exercises also stimulate the metabolism of the eyes. In addition, acupressure massages are used to prevent circulatory disorders in the eyes, cataracts and glaucoma. They are also particularly suitable for strained and exhausted eyes and headaches.
Eye baths with the eye bath are used to clean the cornea and conjunctiva, to refresh and moisten the eyes better. They prevent burning eyes, red eyes and conjunctivitis. So-called eye rest pillows made of velvet or silk and filled with organically grown millet husks are very relaxing. They have the property of absorbing blocked, i.e. static, non-living, pulsating life energy and thus support the relaxation of the eye area. All exercises and measures can be easily integrated into everyday life or deepened through individual training at the eye school.
