Lose weight without fear
Completely revised new version of Andreas Winter's best-selling guide
With new case studies, current figures, data and research results that take into account the progressive change in awareness about nutrition, endocrinology and psychosomatics, the author and consultant proves once again that losing weight is easier than gaining weight .
The decisive “click in the head”
Almost ten years ago, the qualified teacher and health coach Andreas Winter published his book "Losing weight is easier than gaining weight", which continues to spark debate to this day. According to the book, you can reduce your weight very easily once you have understood what actually caused you to be overweight and have resolved these individual backgrounds. In order to clarify this approach, which has been tried and tested many times in consultations, Andreas Winter also developed a 10-day practical program, produced a coaching DVD and answered hundreds of questions in his online forum.
But there were still people who failed with the innovative approach: "Why should you lose weight when you've been getting through life with your pounds for years?" For this reason, Winter is making another attempt with the paperback edition to help overweight people to lose the extra pounds automatically and permanently. With interviews and success stories from his customers, he shows how others found their "click in the head".
What's so bad about being overweight?
According to statistics from 2015, almost three million people worldwide die every year as a result of obesity, 400,000 of them in America and 80,000 in Germany. Obesity treatment costs German health insurance companies around 20 billion euros annually, ten times as much in the USA, and the trend is rising. Worldwide, 2.1 billion adults and 13 percent of children are classified as overweight and obese. Of these, 641 million people are considered morbidly obese - this number has doubled in ten years!
Aside from the physical complaints, the everyday life of those affected is dominated by the thought of losing weight, and the fear of gaining weight limits their quality of life: "The bad thing about being overweight is that other people tell you it's bad!" Winter provocatively claims. This includes not only fashion magazines, partners, friends, relatives and acquaintances, but even so-called nutritionists. "Almost all overweight people think: once I'm slim, I'll feel better, I'll be happier. But it's exactly the opposite: when you feel happy, you lose weight - automatically and without relapse," the successful consultant sums up his innovative therapy approach, according to which subconscious feelings influence the body's metabolism.
Fear makes you fat!
According to Andreas Winter, obesity is caused by fear. However, this factor is always ignored in all weight-loss programs, in all nutritional advice, in fitness exercises and in all good advice on losing weight: "For years, doctors have overlooked the all-explaining factor of fear because they constantly pay attention to the material, the food, and less to how we feel when we eat - and why." In humans, it is mainly the fear of deficiency that leads to the release of certain messenger substances and thus to the build-up and stubborn retention of fat.
There are now numerous people who have lost weight after a single analytical conversation about the psychological causes of their fat deposits, without consciously restricting themselves, disciplining themselves or even doing more sport. Using case studies from his coaching institute, Andreas Winter reports how it is possible to get rid of fears and thus also the excess pounds: "We are talking about fears in early childhood, trauma, shock experiences and serious disappointments. But when all of these are recognized and reflected upon in their connection with excess weight, then not only do they no longer have any influence on the body - no, the fears are then completely dissolved."
