Interview with Prof. Dr. Klaus Buchner and Dr. med. Monika Krout: “5G must either be revised or disappear!”

"5G requires very high levels of radiation for a short period of time for each transmission; however, this affects all types of body cells and can cause diseases such as circulatory problems, fertility problems, cancer and genetic defects. There is no way to convert 5G technology to biologically compatible levels. But it is not acceptable to sacrifice people's health so that industry's investments are worthwhile!" The renowned physicist and former member of the European Parliament Prof. Dr. Klaus Buchner and the environmental physician Dr. med. Monika Krout , authors of the book " 5G Madness ", want to educate people about the risks of the new mobile phone generation and the questionable German limit policy, as well as to show the way to more compatible technologies.

You have been studying the measurable and visible effects of mobile communications on people and nature for many years. What effects are particularly noteworthy here?

Prof. Dr. Buchner: First of all, there is the damage to the health of humans, animals and plants. We know the biophysical mechanisms of how radiation affects cells. Because practically all types of cells are affected, the diseases caused by radiation are also very diverse. These include circulatory problems, reduced fertility, cancer and genetic defects. Another problem, especially with 5G and the "Internet of Things", is that it makes perfect surveillance possible. And we must not forget the enormous energy consumption and the tens of thousands of satellites that are needed for 5G.

The major mobile phone companies are currently touting the supposedly blissful benefits of the fifth generation of mobile communications, 5G. What is new about 5G? And where do you see the problems?

Prof. Dr. Buchner: The high speed of data transmission and the low latency are particularly praised with 5G. For example, you can download more films from the Internet in one minute than you can watch in your whole life. 5G can bring advantages for some industrial applications. 5G is practical for self-driving cars, but not absolutely necessary. I see problems mainly with the short-term but extremely high radiation associated with 5G.

Many people trust that the legal limits for mobile phone radiation will protect their health. Who sets these limits and how do you rate their reliability?

Prof. Dr. Buchner: Our limits are proposed by a private association with close ties to industry, the ICNIRP eV, which has its headquarters in the office building of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection. They are based on the erroneous assumption that the only damage caused by radiation is caused by heating of tissue, which occurs in a similar way to microwaves. However, this assumption has been disproved for decades.

Dr. Krout, as a doctor you are directly confronted with the issue of radiation sickness. What complaints and illnesses can be caused by too much pulsed radiation?

Dr. Monika Krout: In my practice, more and more children and adults are complaining of severe headaches, back pain, and sleep and concentration problems. Studies show that most of those affected experience significant relief from their symptoms when they turn off the WiFi at home and significantly reduce the radio radiation. Long-term damage from radiation is also causing an increasing number of brain and eye tumors and severe circulatory problems in the fingers and toes.

One focus of your research is electrohypersensitivity (EHS). How did this particular interest come about? And what expectations or fears do you have for those affected with regard to 5G?

Dr. Monika Krout: My husband initially developed balance problems and migraines due to cell phone, WiFi and transmission tower radiation, and later epileptic seizures directly due to the strong radio radiation. In a radio-free area, however, he was free of symptoms. He was unable to leave our house for over three years. During this time, I met many people with similar problems. In the hope that these people could emerge from the "lockdown", I am now researching the causes. Only when the nature of an illness is known can it be treated specifically. Unfortunately, my husband has passed away. The radiation from the transmission tower next to our house increased while he was cooking in the evening; the last epileptic seizure was followed by a fatal brain hemorrhage. I wish that many people could be spared the suffering that my three children and I have experienced. If 5G is rolled out, I fear that the number of families affected will increase many times over.

Professor Buchner, you have long been advising citizens' initiatives that campaign for the health of the population and greater consideration for the environment. How can a community defend itself against new radio masts and excess radiation?

Prof. Dr. Buchner: Every municipality can set low limits in its land use plan, for example for residential areas. Strictly speaking, it is even obliged to do so because, apart from the federal government, it is the only one that can implement the precautionary principle, which is anchored in the Basic Law and the EU treaties.

5G has already been launched in several German cities. Hasn't the damage already been done? Is there any way back? And what measures can individuals take now to protect themselves and their families?

Prof. Dr. Buchner: 5G requires very high levels of radiation for a short period of time for each transmission. I don't see any way to convert this technology to biologically compatible levels. That's why 5G must either be revised or disappear. It is not acceptable to sacrifice people's health so that industry's investments are worthwhile. In many cases, you can protect yourself against radiation by shielding. Material for this is offered by several reputable companies. The only problem is that it costs a lot of money and is therefore not available to everyone.

You don't demonize mobile communication in general, but you think the technology used is backward. What alternatives would you recommend?

Prof. Dr. Buchner: Even with conventional technology, radiation exposure can be reduced significantly when it comes to 2G, 3G and 4G. The city of St. Gallen in Switzerland has shown that a 50,000th of the German limit (in terms of performance) is enough to offer fast internet everywhere. However, as the trend in the future is towards even faster transmissions, it will inevitably be necessary to switch to infrared or light technology. Such systems are already available today. They should be used for short distances instead of 5G connections. If used correctly, no health damage is to be expected.

The radiation from 5G is many times higher than that of the current 4G mobile network; the limits are not adjusted to health but to economic requirements, and undesirable study results are swept under the carpet.

England: Over the course of 20 years, the number of glioblastomas (particularly aggressive brain tumors) in the brain regions affected by radio waves has more than tripled, while it has remained almost the same in the remaining brain areas.

Such images are hard to bear! In a pig farm in Lower Bavaria, there was a significant increase in deformities and a simultaneous decrease in the number of births after a nearby mobile phone mast was put into operation.

The renowned physicist Prof. Dr. Klaus Buchner and Dr. med. Monika Krout are not opponents of smartphones & co., but would like to educate and campaign for the protection of people and nature to be placed above economic interests.
