Prize draw with book giveaway in March 2026 – Your Answers

Last month, we asked – fitting our guide »Nature Resilience« by Maria M. Kettenring and Jasmin Schlimm-Thierjung –:

»Physical and emotional resilience in turbulent times: What methods do you recommend to stay balanced and grounded?«

Below are some of the responses we received:

  • »I stay balanced and grounded by regularly practicing mindfulness, moving, taking conscious breaks, and nurturing my social contacts.« (J. G.)
  • »Find the right work-life balance.« (I. U.)
  • »1. Consciously pause and enjoy the moment. 2. Take time-outs (phone, radio...). 3. Learn to say no. And do it without apologies or further explanation.« (S. S.)
  • »Maintain balance, take 10 minutes for yourself in the morning and evening.« (S. V.)
  • »Take a deep breath with closed eyes & listen to the birds chirping.« (V. H.)
  • »It's crucial not to spend too much time on social media, news portals, etc. Screen detox and focusing on your own life is key. Live in the moment, breathe deeply, and try not to think about tomorrow.« (R. J.)
  • »Every free minute, I try to recharge my resources in nature to stay grounded in difficult situations and maintain my calm and balance.« (M. S.)
  • »Regular exercise – whether walks, yoga, or strength training – stabilizes the nervous system.« (T. F.)
  • »Exchange with like-minded people, maintain routines, but always try something new.« (S. K.)
  • »Regular forest walks ground me wonderfully - and completely free of charge :-).« (C. B.)
  • »Read a book quietly in the garden.« (E. P.)
  • »Daily walks.« (C. K.)
  • »I stay grounded by consciously creating small islands in my daily life. I walk barefoot through the garden, breathe deeply, and let thoughts pass instead of holding onto them. I listen to the quiet things, the wind, birds, my own rhythm. When everything gets loud, I retreat briefly, consciously reduce stimuli, and thus find my way back to a clear inner state. For me, balance doesn't mean stagnation, but a constant return to myself.« (M. K.)
  • »Hiking in nature, meditating, pausing.« (L. O.)
  • »Regular time in nature, grounding, good sleep, nourishing food, and pure water.« (A. D.)
  • »To stay balanced, I find it important to regularly plan conscious time for myself, be it through walks, sports, or short breaks without distractions. Mindfulness, e.g., through meditation or conscious breathing, helps to stay in the moment and reduce stress.« (V. W.)
  • »My recommendation is to go out into nature. Breathe deeply, look at the sun, absorb the sun as nourishment, breathe deeply, and take in the scent of trees, flowers, and herbs. Connect with GOD. Feel one with everything.« (B. N.)
  • »In turbulent times, I try to consciously slow down the day. In the morning, take a few minutes to breathe deeply, go outside briefly, and put away the phone. Contact with nature and small moments of silence help me to think more clearly and remain internally stable.« (M. E.)
  • »Create an island for yourself and your loved ones and free yourself from distressing news. « (C. A.)
  • »Listen to calm music in nature (e.g., forest).« (C. B.)
  • »Spending time with loved ones. That recharges all batteries.« (M. H.)
  • »Walking meditation and letting silence work.« (M. F.)
  • »Go for walks and observe nature and pet domestic animals, dogs and cats, and talk to the animals.« (M. L.)
  • »Hiking, relaxing in the sauna, and reading.« (P. S.)
  • »I reflect a lot, meaning I consider whether it's worth expending energy in certain moments or simply taking situations as informational messages that I don't need to delve into further.« (T. K.)
  • »I knit to calm down and switch off.« (B. K.)
  • »Take quiet time for yourself – without being bombarded by other people, media, etc., and allow your mind to rest. If your head doesn't calm down: go into nature and, for me personally, spend time with my dog. Walks with my dog, discovering nature together, really seeing, hearing, and smelling, and slowly absorbing everything step by step, that helps and heals and can help rebuild resilience.« (L. M.)
  • »In critical situations, I try to become aware of what I have already achieved in my life and what could happen to me at worst. That usually puts things into perspective. « (M. W.)
  • »I recommend perceiving the body as an organism that communicates with us through its silent language. The mind should lovingly turn to it and move the energy by directing attention in a unified direction. It's about temporal alignment. « (P. K.)
  • »Lots of time in nature with aromas and Qigong.« (A. H.)
  • »To stay as balanced and grounded as possible, it helps me a lot to stop during my walks in nature and consciously perceive nature and myself within it. To consciously hear, smell, feel, see, and sense. To consciously take time and feel into it, perceive, to ground myself. Spring especially invites us to  perceive progress, growth and changes. Our body and soul benefit from this sustainably. I am very happy to share this recommendation.« (M. D.)
