Mankau Verlag goes fantasy: With Volume I of the trilogy “Liber Bellorum”, the new publishing label “julos” was launched in autumn
“ Blood and Fire ” is the first part of a dark, fantastic novel series by Warda Moram about the fate of a dissimilar pair of brothers. With a print edition and an audio book being released at the same time, a new publishing label is being launched that is aimed particularly at a younger audience.
Successful action by two publishers’ sons
Under the keyword "mankau.fiktion", Julius and Oskar Mankau searched for the best new script from the genres of fantasy and science fiction. The aim of the two publishers' sons was to publish a first book in 2021. Now the time has come, and Mankau Verlag is venturing into new territory with the label " julos ". "Blood and Fire" is the name of the first volume of the captivating fantasy trilogy "Liber Bellorum", with which the committed storyteller Warda Moram takes teenagers aged 14 and over and young adults into a dark fantasy world.
The literary scholar, who writes under a pseudonym and works as a translator and editor in her day-to-day life, made her first attempts at writing fantasy when she was still in primary school and also devoted her master's thesis to fantastic literature. Readers can look forward to an exciting and high-quality story about the fate of two brothers, which, according to the publisher's jury, is somewhere between "Eragon", "The Name of the Wind" and "Lord of the Rings".
“Blood and Fire” – an exciting start
The first part of the trilogy tells the fantastically dark story of the two dissimilar brothers Kyle and Raven, who are homeless and wandering through the country. Kyle, an impulsive and daring character, is driven by a dark secret, while the shy Raven simply wants a normal life and often despairs at his older brother's difficult nature. After an argument, they end up separated in a completely foreign world that is closer to them than they initially realize and that does not only have good things in store for them. They end up at a school for magicians, where they are taught according to their talents.
At first, the two seem to have finally arrived somewhere, but something threatening is brewing over them. One day, Kyle escapes from the academy. Years later, his younger brother sets out to look for him. But what he discovers on his journey terrifies more than just him...
Print edition, audio book, blog – a multimedia and interactive experience
Parallel to the printed edition of the first volume of the trilogy, the audio book of the same name is also being published, skilfully staged by the well-known actor and speaker Matthias Lühn. With his youthful, captivating voice, familiar from numerous audio book productions, including for Lübbe Audio, Hörverlag Hamburg, Wunderkind, Ronin Hörverlag and Random House Audio, he is exactly the right person for the captivating episodes about the eternal battle between the light and dark forces.
So that fantasy fans and new fans of the trilogy can also exchange ideas about what they have read and heard, a separate blog will be launched at www.liber-bellorum.de from July 2021. Through targeted influencer marketing and a free e-book campaign, the committed author and her publisher are building a large test reader network to bring the fantastically dark experiences of the mismatched pair of brothers to life for a large readership. And just as Warda Moram has fulfilled a long-held dream with "Liber bellorum", lovers of sophisticated fantasy can also look forward to stimulating dreams.
